Leahy: What a delight this is for me. Welcoming to our microphones, Diamond and Silk! Good morning, Diamond. Good morning Silk.
Diamond and Silk: Good morning.
Leahy: I have in my hands a fabulous new book. It’s called Uprising: Who the Hell Said You Can’t Ditch and Switch – The Awakening of Diamond and Silk. It’s a signed copy. I have right in my hands here. I’m going to read this one. Diamond, how, in fact, did you awaken?
Diamond: Listen, it was back in 2015 he was then Donald Trump. Now he’s President Trump. When he came down the escalators and started talking about what he was talking about. That was the awakening.
That was the moment. And I’m like, you know what? We do need something different, totally different. We need a businessman. We need a billionaire. We need somebody with the master plan that truly knows how to make America great again.
And if you look it up under his leadership, people were not struggling. People were becoming prosperous, building businesses, opening up businesses. And then now you look at this Joe Biden regime and you see what’s happening to our country.
Now, Joe Biden is talking about building back better. But he’s building back backwards, and he’s building back where everybody’s going to be broke.
Leahy: I like that. Building back backwards where everybody’s broke. This is why Diamond and Silk are so good. Silk, in June 2015, your sister, Diamond, saw Donald Trump going down the escalator. Were you hanging together? Did you call her on the phone? What was your reaction that day?
Silk: She called me.
Leahy: She called you.
Silk: She told me, girl, look at the TV.
Diamond: Cut on your TV. Cut on your TV. Donald Trump is announcing that he’s running for President, and that’s what I did. I cut on the TV.
Leahy: You turned it on.
Silk: And then I was listening to everything that he was saying. It made sense. He had solutions to the different issues that have been plaguing America, especially Black America in a Black community.
I’m like, why are a lot of people losing their jobs, and what’s happening here? He talked about the illegal aliens that are crossing the border and how we need to protect our borders and different things and bring back jobs to the community.
And then that’s when I picked back up the phone and I called her back. And I said, girl, this is going to be the next president of the United States of America. And sure enough, in 2016, he was the next president of the United States of America.
Leahy: Now you both grew up in North Carolina.
Diamond: Well, yeah. We were born in North Carolina, and then we were raised a little bit in Michigan. And then we moved back to North Carolina.
Leahy: And you both live in North Carolina.
Diamond: We both live in North Carolina.
Leahy: I am guessing the text messages going back and forth between your two houses and your two phones are going at the speed of lightning.
Diamond: Well, now at that time, we really didn’t text each other. We didn’t know about no texting like that.
Leahy: Really?
Diamond: So that’s why I picked up the phone to tell my girl this is what’s going to happen. That was back in 2015. So I wasn’t into all of that texting anybody. But we would end up talking on the phone all the time.
Leahy: Now, when did you become Diamond and Silk?
Diamond: We became Diamond and Silk in the year of 2013. When we started speaking out, we didn’t know all of these people were going to hear it.
And what happened is I believe she Googled and we were in all of these blogs and we didn’t realize what was going on and what we were doing.
Leahy: You were bigger than you knew you were.
Silk: That’s right. Exactly. And then with all of the different incoming that we received early on.
Leahy: You say incoming. You mean criticizing.
Silk: That’s right. Especially with us being two black women that used to be Democrats. And then we became Republicans, but just getting all of the incoming and, you know, we had to protect ourselves. That’s when we came up with Diamond and Silk. She went here way.
Leahy: So you weren’t originally Diamond and Silk. You were your names. Your real names.
Diamond: We didn’t come off and say, hey, I’m Lynette. And we were like, listen, we were on YouTube electric. So we said everything that we didn’t like about this, and then we didn’t like about that.
We had no idea that people were looking at us was watching us. We didn’t know. Let me tell you something. When we went to the first rally…
Leahy: When was that?
Diamond: That was back in 2015 was on December 2015 around my mom’s birthday. Bless her heart because she’s passed on.
But when we were at that rallies, we still didn’t notice how popular we were. And so we went and sat down. And all of these people started saying…
Leahy: Diamond! Silk!
Diamond: Absolutely. I mean, we just didn’t know. Even after the event was over, somebody had to grab us and get us out of there because they were like, you all don’t know how popular you are. You can’t just be anywhere.
Silk: There were people standing up around us who wouldn’t let people come and talk to us. We were like, why are they letting them people just won’t let them come and talk to us. Come to find out that it was security. I really didn’t know that.
Leahy: Here’s the big question. Why Diamond? Why Silk?
Diamond: Why not?
Leahy: I don’t know, carbon.
Diamond: That’s like when you have peaches and herbs, didn’t think it was going to be popular song to song.
Silk: Or like Ice Cream.
Diamond: That’s right. We didn’t think it was going to be popular today. Diamon maybe because I shine so bright. And she’s Silk because when I call Silk, I call her silky smooth. Oh, she’s calm me. I’ve always got the diamond shine.
Leahy: Diamond shines and Silk is smooth. I can see this right now. This makes sense.
Diamond: We didn’t know none of that was going to stick. Listen. We never knew that we were gonna turn out like none of this.
Silk: That’s why you have to read the book. You have to get the book.

Diamond: Now that blank word is in the Bible. So why can’t you say it?
Leahy: I don’t know. I suppose I could. (Diamond chuckles)Â

Diamond: Well, we weren’t really trying to promote yourself that.
Silk: If you ever want to make God laugh, tell him your plan.
Diamond: I had no plans. And what the devil meant for evil God turned around for good. So we do a lot of stuff educating the people with a little entertainment.
Leahy: A little?
Diamond: Just a little entertainment.
Leahy: A lot of entertainment.
Diamond: We have to keep you laughing to keep you from crying with everything that’s happening in our country. We weren’t experiencing this up under President Trump. Now look at what we have up in here is Joe Biden regime.
Everything is up. The cost of food is up, the cost of gas is up. Everything is up. And people like, what about the elderly? What about the elderly on fixed incomes? How are they making it out here?
You go in the grocery store and a pack of wings costs you 20 bucks. I have never seen anything like that. You’d be better off just going by us little bitties and start raising your own chickens. (Silk laughs)
This is crazy. And people need to look at this here. What we are experiencing, we don’t like it. They’re trying to make this political. But listen, let me tell you something. This is about our freedoms.
Silk: That’s right.
Diamond: And if you don’t stand up for your freedom, let me tell you something. We are going to be slaves.
Silk: Yeah. Especially when you have that open border there and this invasion of America that’s going on. Does the Biden regime want to call it immigration?
No, this is an invasion of illegal aliens. People got to start calling a thing a thing. Title Eight C0de 1324 that it’s illegal to aid and abet an alien. It doesn’t say anything about no migrant.
Diamond: That’s right. And I don’t care what color the illegal alien is. I don’t care if they black Haitians. If they beige coming from Mexico or Guatemala. If you cross that border illegal, you are doing it wrong. You don’t break into the House of America.
When you come to my house, you’re not going to do it. You don’t break through my window. You are a burglar. You are not a guest.
I suppose what we ought to do is we ought to get all Alejandro Mayorkas fired and then just have the two of you replace them as the head of Homeland Security.
Silk: That’s right.
Diamond: Listen. Our borders have to be protected. You cannot allow people to come up over here, and then you fly them to different communities, and we don’t know if they have COVID or what they have.
I thought we were in the middle of a pandemic. I thought, why are you flying illegal aliens to different communities and we don’t know what they have COVID.
And then you’re telling them that they don’t have to be tested. They don’t have to be vaccinated. But you are making it and commanding that every American be vaccinated.
Just think about that. Does that make sense? Are you trying to replace our rights with illegal aliens? Because you know that you’re losing your voting block. You know that we’re not paying attention to you anymore. Especially Black Americans.
